Ms. Barbara is the ECSP Director, and she also teaches. She’s been with Effort Christian Preschool in 2005. Barbara holds a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Liberty University, and is continuing her MS there. She’s happily been teaching K4 for 9 years. She has been married to her husband, Doug, for 21 years and they have three daughters, Jordan, Madi and Brooke. Barbara enjoys watching her children play soccer, and reading and traveling in her free time.
Ms. Pat has been with ECSP for 5 years and is the Assistant Director of ECSP. Pat graduated from Macon State College with an A.S. in Business Administration. She enjoys being able to support the directors, teachers and staff in their daily ministry to our students and their families.
Ms. Parks teaches Kindergarten. She joined Effort Christian School and Preschool in 2010 and has 19 years of classroom teaching experience. Part of her experience includes teaching sixth grade. Ms. Parks holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from a Christian college. She is proud to have touched the lives of many students throughout her teaching career.
Mrs. Steger teaches 1st Grade. She has over 12 years of teaching experience, including also teaching 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade. Mrs. Steger holds her Bachelor’s of Education from SUNY Cortland and her Master’s of Education with a specialty in Reading and Literacy from Walden University.
Mrs. Pittman teaches 2nd Grade, and began teaching at Effort Christian School and Preschool in 2014. She holds a Masters in Elementary Education from Lesley University and has over nine years of teaching experience. Teaching is truly a calling for her and she feels blessed to be part of the Effort staff.
Mrs. Craft teaches 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. Her 23 years of teaching experience includes teaching Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. Mrs. Craft holds her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Houston with specializations in Math and Reading.
Kelly teaches our Middle School students in grades 6th, 7th and 8th. Her 3 years of teaching experience includes First, Third and Fifth Grades. Mrs. Gach holds her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, with an emphasis in Mathematics from Missouri Western State University.
Lynn, whom we call Ms. Lolly, is the ECSP teacher for the 2 1/2 – 3 year old class. Lolly is a recently retired teacher with 36 years of teaching experience, including 33 years in the Fluvanna County school system. She has a BS in Elementary Education and is a Reading Specialist. Her teaching experience includes pre-K, reading and 27 years of Kindergarten. Lolly was married to her husband Duane for 33 years. He passed away in December of 2016. She has two daughters, two sons-in-law and a grandson who is in her class! Lolly lives in Fork Union where family is a huge part of her life. She attends Fork Union Baptist Church and teaches the preschool Sunday school class. Happy times are never ending, when we’re playing and pretending!
Ms. Connie teaches in our K4 year old class. She has worked at Effort Christian School and Preschool for 7 years. Connie has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont Virginia Community College. Connie loves Jesus and finds great joy in sharing the love of Jesus with her children here at ECSP.
Shelby teachers the 3 year old class. As the resident Grandma, Shelby is just the right fit for our precious little ones. She loves to sing and do arts and crafts with her class. Shelby has over 30 years experience in Early Childhood education.
Ms. Angela teaches K4 at ECSP, and also works in our Early Drop Off and After School Program. She has AA Degree from PVCC. Angela also attended West Virginia University. She feels very blessed for the opportunity to be a K4 teacher at Effort Christian School and Preschool.
Children’s Minister/K-4 Teacher
Ms. Susan began teaching at ECSP in January 2010. She currently teaches a half day K4 Class. Susan also serves as the Children’s Minister here at Effort Church. She considers her days in the classroom a blessing from God. Her calling “to make a difference in a child’s life” is lived out every day through her work and volunteer responsibilities.
